In the northeastern state of Assam in India, along the Brahmaputra River grow the hearty, malty Assam teas. The heavy rainfall and hot, humid day time temperatures in this area create the perfect greenhouse like environment for growth, as well as helping to create the unique taste found only in Assam teas. Their distinct flavor can be enjoyed “as is”; however, Assam teas are often used in conjunction with other teas to create numerous blends, specifically breakfast teas.

This CTC tea comes from the Jalinga estate, a 3^rd generation family-owned business which is located in the Cachar district of India. The Jalinga estate is a leader in sustainable agriculture.  They are the 1^st tea company in the world to be certified as a carbon neutral estate.

This tea brews to a bright amber cup with a traditional malty taste and light fruit notes. Enjoy this tea in the morning to get your day started off right!
